 Breaking News: 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly officially sign impeachment Notice against the Governor. The crisis rocking the Rivers state Governor and members of the state Assembly has taken another step, as 24 out of the 32 members of the Rivers state House of Assembly signed the impeachment notice against the Governor Sim Fubara. The House of Assembly complex earlier this morning around 00.00 hours where burnt down by unknown persons on the insinuation that the state Governor was to be impeached today. The house will transmit the Impeachment Notice to the State Chief Judge who will set up à judicial panel to review allegations leveled against the Governor.

POLICE OFFICER WHO KILLED LAWYER TO DIE BY HANGING

  Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court has sentenced a police officer, Darambi Vandi, to death by hanging for shooting a Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem to death last Christmas. Recall that the defendant shot Raheem in the chest on Dec. 25, 2022, at Ajah Roundabout, on Lekki- Expressway, Lagos State. Daily Post reports that the prosecution team led by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, called 11 witnesses, including eight police officers. The other prosecution witnesses include two eyewitnesses and a pathologist.
